Had a wonderful experience staying at the single room. Quiet area near to the hotel. What's more, getting to a hidden 20m waterfall on foot takes about 5 mins. We will be back, this property met standard.

Wonderful hotel.... It was obvious that they truly cared that everyone had a good visit. Putting out an American flag on the 4th of July was such a nice touch! Plus, the location is perfect for exploring that section of Iceland.

The receptionist was very pleasant and upgraded us to a big family room. The building used to be a school, so it was an interesting layout and we joked that you needed a hall pass to use the shared bath. The dinner and breakfast buffet was tasty and diverse. We had a couple vegetarians with us and there was pasta and beans available. We could have asked for a custom plate for vegetarians but it wasn't necessary. The location is top notch, walking distance to the gorgeous Skogarfoss waterfalls and just next door to the Skogar Museum which is like the Smithsonian of Iceland with everything you would like to know and see about it's history. Fabulous replica village too.
The doors were very heavy and loud to our hotel room- hard to sneak out for bathroom break at night. Also it was off-putting to us that they served Minke Whale at the dinner buffet and horse- which I later learned was foal. I am just not used to that being ok.

I recently stayed at Hotel Edda in Skogar for a few nights and had a great experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and well-trained, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the shared showers were always clean. The hotel restaurant offered delicious meals at a reasonable price, and the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options. The location of the hotel was perfect, as it was close to the waterfall and the Folk Museum. I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Edda and would highly recommend it.
Would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located in a beautiful place near to a museum open-air. Nearby well-known volcano!
The hotel has no swimming pool and geothermal hot tub. There is no kitchen. There are no numbers for smokers.

The location of this hotel is absolutely stunning, situated next to the magnificent Skogarfoss waterfall. It served as the perfect base for exploring the Dyrholaey cliffs, black sands beach, and witnessing the amazing puffins flying in at night. We were also able to easily visit the Jokulsarlon and Glacial Lagoon from here. the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean.
We felt cared for during our stay and had no complaints whatsoever.

Excellent location just outside Skogar, walking distance from the Skogafoss. The rooms are quite simple but clean and serviceable. Sharing shower rooms did not prove to be a problem. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
Dinner is a buffet. Basic but OK. However it worked out at approx 22,000 krona for a family of four to include some basic drinks. There was no menu or pricelist to alert us to the high cost in advance (there is a tariff for drinks).

Location of the hotel was a bit misleading. It is not located in Hvolsföllur, as mentioned in addres, but in a small village called Skogar.

Nice hotel with great location.
It just wasn't in the town I thought it was. Its postal address is 45 minutes to the west, where I wanted to stay. Also it was advertised to have a hot pot but it was not available.

Hotel Edda Skogar was in a beautiful location next to a lovely farm and waterfall. The waterfall was certainly an unexpected surprise as the is right off the main road. The breakfast choices were varied and delicious. The staff was quite helpful.
The internet access was a bit slow but we managed.
